Discovering potential, envisioning new possibilities
In partnership with GE Vernova South Africa, Kutitiva co-designed and co-delivered the inaugural HER STEAM experience. Forty girls in Grades 8 and 9 spent three days exploring nine STEAM career stations, meeting engineers and completing a hands-on solar-oven design challenge.
Alongside the engineering exposure, Kutitiva integrated Self-Portrait™ learning-strengths assessments, personalised study strategies, emotional resilience, teamwork, reflection and personal-safety training, so the girls left not only inspired by STEAM careers but better equipped to pursue them.
Learners from Olievenhoutbosch, Noordwyk and Mayibuye Secondary Schools took part alongside GE-linked students. A post-event report documented learner feedback and practical lessons for future programmes.
