From insight to change
An assessment is only the beginning. Kutitiva’s developmental approach turns self-awareness into practical tools, personal application and continued growth — for learners and for the adults around them.
Five steps, one continuous journey
Assess
Each learner or educator completes a Self-Portrait™ learning-strengths assessment, online or on paper.
Understand
Small-group feedback and workshops help people interpret their personal results and appreciate others’ differences.
Equip
Workbooks and workshops on study techniques, resilience, communication, conflict resolution and career choices.
Apply
Learners apply insights to how they study and choose subjects; educators apply them in teaching and classroom management.
Follow up
Termly workshops, individual coaching and check-ins sustain growth over months and years, not just one day.
Self-awareness leads to practical tools, personal application and continued growth.
Five dimensions of how a person learns and works
Kutitiva applies the Self-Portrait™ instrument within its programmes. It is a strengths-based, psychosocial self-awareness tool — not a test of academic aptitude and not a diagnostic test.
Dispositions
A person’s natural approach to life, work and learning — and how it differs from others’.
Modalities
Preferred ways of taking in and processing information: seeing, hearing, doing, and more.
Talents
Natural abilities that can be developed and used in study, teaching and careers.
Environment
The surroundings and conditions in which a person concentrates and learns best.
Interests
Areas of interest that help guide subject choices, careers and motivation.
Self-Portrait™ is the intellectual property of the LearningSuccess Institute (LSI), which provides the assessment. Kutitiva is an independent non-profit that applies the instrument within its development programmes. Individual assessment results are confidential and never published.
Everyone who shapes a child’s learning is part of the process
One of Kutitiva’s strengths is that we work with the adults around children as well as the children themselves. Online results can be made available to the learner, parents, educators and school management, so everyone can support the learner’s growth and self-image.
Learners
Discover how they learn best, gain study techniques, and make informed subject and career choices.
Educators
Understand their own strengths and the varied needs of the learners in their classrooms.
School management
See staff-team make-up and class or grade results to plan support and teamwork.
Parents
Understand their children’s learning styles, making communication and conflict resolution smoother.
